The War on Terror; Lost

Osama bin Laden has scored the biggest victory possible in the phony Boosh "War on Terror," and the funny thing is he didn't have to lift a finger to achieve victory. Well, he did bait the trap, but beyond that he merely sat in his cave or mansion or whatever the hell he's in these days and watched the Moron in Chief implode our Republic. bin Laden couldn't have possibly achieved this with his own resources, no matter the number of young fanatics he could find willing to blow themselves up for Allah.

bin Laden has maintained throughout his "career in terror" that the United States would be the master of her own undoing, and I'll be darned, he has been proven correct. The moment we moved into Afghanistan, our troops were doomed to be slaughtered. Boosh learned nothing from the Soviet attempt to control Afghanistan. In case you have forgotten, after a decade or so of fierce fighting, the Soviet's turned tail and ran. They were unable to defeat the Afghan warlords and druglords and steal their drugs and money, despite the overwhelming force they presented. Battling them on their turf was not a good idea, and is still not a good idea in the 21st century. That is where the trap was set, with bin Laden correctly assuming that Boosh would attack Afghanistan immediately after 9/11/2001. And, attack he did. We moved the Taliban out of power faster than anyone could have imagined, but the Taliban have proven patient and resourceful if nothing else. Now, some 4+ years later, they are nearly back to where they were prior to our invasion. How did that happen? Well, we inexplicably took our eye off the ball and gave bin Laden the gift that keeps on giving. We moved most of our military might and power into Iraq.

Iraq? Why? The Boosh administration has finally, after many years of confusing the American people by delivering different messages through different sources, admitted that Saddam Hussein had nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with 9/11. For years, they used different administration officials to say different things, I assume, to maintain some form of plausible deniability for Boosh or somebody. And for many years it worked. Readers of this blog have known that there was no 9/11 + Iraq connection since the inception of the Real Deal, but the typical mainstream media watching American did not. Astonishingly, some still believe that Saddam was involved. I'm sorry to say that there is simply no hope for those folks. They will believe it until the day they die. Though George Boosh himself, during a press conference last week, said unequivocally that there was no connection, some still won't believe it. Forget them, they aren't reading this anyway. But Iraq?

Osama bin Laden, who has managed to keep from being "brought to justice" by this administration for over 5 years, must feel as if he has hit the lottery 10 times over. Why? We are essentially doing or have done his work for him, in two ways.

First, by our waterboarding of innocent detainees among other discretions at Abu Ghraib, by our finally admitting (what we all already knew) that we have been running private CIA prisons in countries that permit torture, by failing to assemble a true coalition of willing countries and giving the middle finger to world opinion and the UN, we have destroyed our credibility across the globe. We have exactly one ally, and the leader of that nation has already agreed to step down within a year due to the fallout of joining us in this venture. Yet Boosh continues playing cowboy, despite an extremely conservative Supreme Court telling him that his detainee policies are unconstitutional. Though Boosh says we do not torture people, his actions the past couple of days beg questions. He has been on Capitol Hill, a rare occurence for any President (urgh), twisting the arms of his Republican buddies to okay his unconstitutional practices, retroactively. Fortunately, he has so far failed with John McCain (a former POW), Lindsay Graham (a military lawyer turned Senator) and others. Even Colin Powell, (albeit several years too late to regain my respect) has turned on him, along with several key Republican Senators. Boosh is so mad that he is threatening to stop interrogating suspects entirely should Congress not give him what he wants. Like a child, he will take his ball and go home if he doesn't get his way. Boosh said than Colin Powell's argument used "flawed logic," for heaven's sake. The world is upside down when a man with the IQ of Boosh has the guts to question someone with Colin Powell's intellect on matters concerning logic. That is how far we've fallen, and there is no end in sight to this madness. With each Boosh utterance, he further damages our credibility and moral standing around the world. His bizarre performance in the Rose Garden today makes me think that Boosh is fighting this issue so hard in order to avoid the possibility of facing war crime accusations or trials. I am dead serious about that. Boosh is already facing potential legal trouble with his illegal wiretapping. That is an American issue. Permitting the torture of non-American citizens is a WORLD issue.

But, that's not the cherry on top of the sundae for Osama bin Laden. The second thing, the real cherry, came when we removed Saddam Hussein from power. Not only did Saddam Hussein have nothing to do with 9/11, he and Osama in Laden are sworn enemies. Either would have killed the other if given the chance. Osama is fighting a holy war, Saddam is an atheist in the eyes of bin Laden. They live in and seek (at least until Saddam was removed) different worlds, have different ideas about most things. The only thing they have in common is a hatred for the United States, a less than novel concept these days. In fact, years ago bin Laden went to Saddam Hussein to try to foster some type of relationship, and Saddam essentially snubbed him. bin Laden has not forgotten that, has in fact used it to build his network with other Muslim Saddam haters. What a deal. It must be quite a party for him as he watches his hated enemy number one, the United States, take down hated enemy number two, Saddam Hussein. All the while, he remains loose and his network grows, along with his mystique. bin Laden will never again have a recruiting problem. Hell, he may soon even have some real, caucasian Americans to choose from. I notice a certain restlessness about the American people these days, and wouldn't be surprised to see the next Timothy McVeigh turn up with a name like Muhammed.

Osama bin Laden has won this war, and has paid only the price of convincing 19 "more than willing" hijackers to give their lives by flying planes into a few buildings. Not even he could have imagined the magical results of that simple act. Even if Boosh convinces the Republicans to retroactively legalize his torture policies, we have become exactly what Osama said so long ago that we were/would become, a rogue nation. I have often said that we were nothing but a Banana Republic disguised as a Superpower, and that is proving to be true. Meanwhile, Boosh is like a pitcher who throws a no-hitter and loses the game by walking in the winning run. Osama wins the game without a hit. Whoulda thunk it?

"And so, in my State of the--my State of the Union--or state--my speech to the nation, whatever you want to call it, speech to the nation--I asked Americans to give 4,000 years--4,000 hours over the next--the rest of your life--of service to America. That's what I asked--4,000 hours."

Whee, I get first comment. Thanks for the post Cy. Good to be hearing from you again.

Isn't it interesting that this administration seems to fuck up everything they turn their attention to? One of my nightmares is that they planned for everything to happen just as it has.

4000 hours of service? That is 1 1/2 years at 8 hours per day per person, 7 days a week. Lets see, population of 300 million, at 4000 hrs service each that is 12 X 10 to the 12th power, man that is a lotof free labor. Maybe he is figuring to enforce this with the Haliburton camps. Free labor for the corporations I suspect.

Just a historical note.

I think is was Kipling who had a phrase for Afghanistan:

Graveyard of Empires

(below copied from an article in Foreign Affairs by Milton Beardon)

In the aftermath of the second British misadventure in Afghanistan, Rudyard Kipling penned his immortal lines on the role of the local women in tidying up the battlefields:

When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains

And the women come out to cut up what remains

Jest roll to your rifle an' blow out your brains

An' go to your Gawd like a soldier.

I couldn't watch the whole Rose Garden speach!

After "Boosh" said "It's unacceptable to think...", Hazel took one look at the expression on my face, hid the guns, AND the coffee, and sent me up to the neighbors' house to smoke pot! It's a blessing to have a woman that knows you that well!

Great post Cyclone! One of your best! I've been saying "I told ya so" so many times this week, I'm getting sick of saying it!

If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times! If you want to see what happens when you fight a war you can't win, with money you don't have, just take a look at the USSR in the late eighties!

Bush is scared right now! He's completely terrified! Look at the facial expresions! Look at the "deer in the headlights" eyes! He KNOWS he's fucked up!

And if all the other fuck-ups this week couldn't be enough, Iraq just sold all his oil to Russia! Talk about poetic justice!

I sure hope that weasel is terrified. Hope he is terrified for his life frankly.

I didn't even try to watch his speech. Evidently I had an intuition that was correct. Too bad he is just a dumb ass puppet for other's agendas. We really need to get to the power behind these jerks and do something about them. We haven't yet broken the turn of the wheel.

Great post Cyclone...

The only thing I would perhaps seed is a bit of sober second thought about is with regard to Osama still being alive.

I do not for a moment believe that he still is alive due to his medical condition back in 2001 and I do not for a moment believe the Gubmint believes he still is as they use his image sparingly.

If he was still the active and fearsome terrorist leader the Gubmint wants the sheeple to believe what a great card to play right now before the November elections to get people in line through fear. I really believe they know they can only push this image so far before people will start to ask why they have not made his capture. Men in the grave have the ultimate escape....

Ely,

Good to hear from you. I am writing this before reading the link you provided, so I may change my mind before the night is out. But for now, I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree on Osama. I will come around if he turns up dead on the eve of the election, but until then I'm of the belief that he is alive. And, we're either not looking too hard for him or are totally incapable of hunting him down. I fear the latter. There are too many tapes out there over the last couple of years, in my view, for him to be dead. Also, there are no leaks coming from anywhere that he's dead and that we know it. That is probably the strongest indication that he is alive. (the lack of leaks) I believe it's most likely that he's living under protection in Pakistan. The Pakistan government is playing both sides, and there's nothing we can do about it. They are our only hope for support in the region, however shaky that support is.

If I'm wrong, he has been dead for years, and our government doesn't have a clue about it. Probably lying under the rubble of some building we bombed years ago. As hot as the kitchen has gotten for Booshco lately, they would be parading him around on the back of a horse if they knew he was dead and where he was. Even without a body, they would issue a statement from the CIA, allowing them to take credit for his death. It does them no good for him to be dead without public knowledge, unless they are saving it for an "October Surprise." They (Booshco) have become increasingly desparate lately, jumping at the shadows of shadows. Boosh especially is nearing the meltdown stage. They need some "good news" and need it fast. Osama being dead would qualify as "good news."

Whatever the case, it will be interesting to see what happens on the bin Laden front between now and November.

Please continue to comment, Ely. As you are aware, I greatly value your perspective.

From Belgium,

As a throw away comment, what we are witnessing now is a controlled demolition of the American Empire.

Although the main article went over bin Laden there is a growing opinion that Al Qaeda does not actually exist. In fact the only reason for its being at all is to have something to point the finger at for the 9/11 events.
If you Google ‘Al Qaeda Does Not Exist’ the following link is the first of three and a half million on the subject:

http://english.pravda.ru/mailbox/22/101/397/13821_AlQaeda.html

I expect that many of these references are circular but even so, that is a big number of people putting this on the web as a serious discussion point.

Secondly, on the subject of the brave 19 Muslim martyrs; what do you make of the theory that although they in fact existed, they took no part in the aeroplane hijackings. The theory goes that the planes which hit the twin towers were radio controlled like a model aircraft. There is evidence that not only does this technology exist but was installed in the types of planes which hit the WTC. This technology was an attempt to foil the spate of hijackings which were prevalent during the early 70’s. If a control tower became aware of a hijack situation they could take control of the plane away from the flight crew and then tell the hijackers that even if they killed everyone on the plane the authorities would still land it at an airfield of their own choice.

Does anybody have an opinion on something that I read to the effect that Bush senior has only distain for Bush junior?

I have also read that, for want of something better I will call them the Elite, the financial supremos who are organising the world economy; have now written Bush off. He was good for them but he was careless and made too many mistakes. They are now prepared to cut him out and let him swing, instead continuing their plan of world dominance through a Democrat administration elected on a ‘New clean America’ ticket.

On a complete change of subject, have any of you heard of a campaign to encourage people to make their own diesel for $0.62/gal. It involves using additives to recycled French fry oil. I suspect emperors clothes but I am not sure.

I know that if Bush were my kid I'd be thoroughly ashamed. He's screwed up the family plans to pacify the East.

But I suspect the Dem. white knight is coming on a white horse to save us all. I bet most of American population fall for it too. I'm beginning to suspect that G.W. was a patsy set up. Put someone in who is marginally intellegent and will screw everything up and then have the savior elected who can really tighten the screws and nobody will be the wiser. All this to 'fix' the problems and tighten control.

Belgium,

This post was written just accepting the fact that 9/11 went down as described. I realize that there are too many questions about the event itself to answer, but that is for a different day.

As for the existence of Al Qaeda, I don't think it really matters whether they do or do not exist. We have plenty of pissed off Muslims and non-Muslims either actively participating in or passively rooting for our downfall. What they are actually called, I find irrelevant.

On Boosh Sr., I wrote a long time ago that he is embarassed by the idiot son and had jumped in bed (not literally, of course) with Bill Clinton. A match made, in, ???????? That should tell you all you need to know about his thoughts of the Jr.

After all those demented visuals, we could all use something!

I just returned from Portland, where I viewed a private screening of "America - From Freedom to Facism." It doesn't have a whole lot of information that we don't know already, but it does have a lot that most of the people who are not hooked up to the blogs don't know.

One new thing to me was that the amount of money that we pay as income taxes is entirely spent on payments to the central bank as interest on the money that they have so kindly printed for us!

Also, as of May 2008, Americans will be required to carry indentity papers. They may be combined with our drivers licenses. Anyway, they will include a chip that will be a tracking device that will record your every movement. Additionally, passports, credit cards, etc. will all contain these chips to keep track of every purchase and place you go. The next step is direct implantation of the chips in our hands and getting rid of paper money altogether. So, if they decide they don't like you, you you'll just be cancelled. No food, no rent money, no travel, no escape. NO nothing.

You really have to see this. Everybody call their local theater and ask that it come to your town. Also, go to the website and get involved. www.fromfreedomtofacism.com

It is the harbinger of new times. In our hearts, all of us know who perpetrated the attacks on America. We can see clearly, with five years hindsight, who has benefitted from this minor investment of human capital.

The single most important event of all of our lives is yet to unfold. It will not streak silver out of focus on scratchy film some innocent blue morning, audios jammed with first responders ruining footage for the main stream press.

It will hang in the air like a flag at the end of summer.

It will turn your mouth black. Your loving hands will spring like harrows. Your gray hair will fall upon your plate.

Where will you go? What will you do, when the ones you've empowered train their armies on you?

Answer me that, you red, white and blue boys, who have nothing better to do but wade through all these inane retorts?

I have read all your reports and, frankly, they are wanting.

Can't we agree, our country is worth saving?

Even if we dispute our individual failing?

You lie in your burb and hear the near burbs sprawl.
It's the soft sound that soothes us all. All night, we hear the crawl of tracks and pneumatic hammers and cement mixers and delvery trucks backing into their next big deal, and we say, "cool. I love this wheel!"

"Spent ma life tryin' to make money, now th' money's no good."

"In the greatest country on earth, in the early hours of the twenty-first century, I cannot afford to educate my kids. Nor provide them with health care. Is this a legacy we want handed down? Permit my frown."

"In the room the women come and go
talking of Michaelangelo."

Tis a good thing to disagree, good lord knows I am probably more wrong than right most days but I put it out there for debate.

I used to be one who took most of what the MSM told me as being the truth. I no longer view or listen to the MSM and I am much the wiser for that. The MSM when not panning the sex attributes of the female hostess is nothing more than a propaganda machine for the government, and when not doing that they continue to dumb down the populace with stories of utter irrelivance. I gather my information from a variety of surces and fromt hat I form my opinion.

I firmly believe that Osama is dead. He will however re appear when required to assist this cabal in Washington to put fear of the terrorists back in the hearts and minds of the american sheeple.

People will always be influenced and controlled by fear. This admin knows that and they are professionals when it comes to putting the people in line through fear. I expect that in the not too distant future another event will occur that will once again bring the masses in line and I am not sure if Osama will or won't be a part of that.

This cabal needs to maintain control as their mission, whatever that may ultimately be, I believe is not complete as they have not put the Mid East in line with their need.

They need to strike Iran and this has become a masterful chess match between the two countries of which I believe Iranians hold the advantage. What brings me to that offering is that Iran has agreed to suspend enrichment operations for a time. Bush did not want this, and by holding out this olive banch the Iranians have put the US and Isreal in a world spot light.

Will they still attack when their only reason for attack has been suspended? Hmmm makes for an interesting next couple of months....hehehehehe

Consequences are not what they will put out there for the public to see and to hear. They do not wish to tell Joe and Joesephine public that by pushing forward with a war with Iran that it will involve a lot more sacrifice than that which they began in Iraq.
Iran is leagues ahead of where Iraq was regarding military capability, leagues ahead regarding intelligence on the weaknesses of the USA. All of this aside a war with Iran will signal to the Muslim world that they too could be next and it is time to pick a side.

They do not tell the public that the war has the potential to find its way to the streets of America.

They do not mention to the populace that Iran can and will strike back far more feircely than Iraq could have ever dreamed. They do not tell of the countless young men and women from lower class families that will be slaughtered to pay for this madness. We all know full well that those with a silver spoon in their collective mouths will not have to pay the ulitmate sacrifice cause that is the rich american way....No these people have graduated from some of the finest institutions in America and only further my belief that some of the dumbest people you will ever meet also have some of the highest education...sigh
