A Merry Christmas to All

While I had planned a final post before Christmas, it just didn't get done in time. So, the Real Deal is shutting down for a brief holiday period. Obviously the site is still open to comments and conversation.

I want to thank each and every one of you who contribute to and support this site in whatever way you do, either small or large. Without all of you, this place would not exist. We, as Rockpicker so eloquently stated in a recent comment, do a small part in awakening the world to the problems that we both face and create. After the holidays, that contribution will continue. I will have a new piece ready and posted on Tuesday, December 26.

As an aside, I recognize that it is a gift giving time of year. I'm not sure whether you all can see the numbers of visitors listed at the bottom of the page, but it is nearing 100,000 folks. In reality, we exceeded that number a while back. But, due to my unfamiliarity with the technical aspects of this venture, and my technical incompetence in general, I inadvertantly reset the numbers on two different occasions within the first couple of months of the birth of this site. Some 25-30,000 numbers do not show up, so we will just use the 80,000 plus figure that is visible. As we move on through the next couple of weeks or so, keep an eye on that number. If you happen to be the person who logs on and the number reads 100,000, you are the lucky winner of a gift of highly suspect and questionable value. A Real Deal T-Shirt, absolutely free of charge! (woopee!) Should you be that person, send an email to me at:

cyclone@cyclonesrealdeal.com

Please put "free t-shirt" in the subject line along with size, a name and address to ship it to and I will get it right out to you.

We as a nation and world, face many horrific problems heading into the New Year, mostly self inflicted ones. We are on the brink of reaching/causing perhaps the greatest calamity in the history of the world, but ranting about such things can wait a few days. But Boosh, never fear, as the Terminator would say, I'LL BE BACK!

In the meantime, enjoy the Christmas season and spend time with those closest to you, read a book in solitude, or do whatever things make you the happiest. We all deserve some peace and rest, brief as it may be.

Please think of our TROOPS, who, due to no fault of their own, are stuck in some hell hole far away from home wondering whether or not they will ever return and see their loved ones again. Think of their families as well, as their holiday season cannot possibly be the same were the circumstances different.

Most of all, have a MERRY CHRISTMAS, or to those of you who do not celebrate Christmas in the traditional sense, enjoy a happy holiday season. See you soon,

Cyclone

Yes, yes to the best ideals that the season has for us when we turn off the commercials. Peace on earth, goodwill towards men. To all of us who sustain each other with our thoughts and good humor, bless us every one with peace and love and all the joy we can muster.

Wishing all who venture to this special place a Feliz Navidad!! I look forward to comments and posts from evryone of you in the New Year

Peace be with you all and I leave you with this little bit that I always find inspirational..

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much
bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye."
He then began to sob and walked away.
My friends, I wish you enough!

Should you wish to know where the rest of this comes from just google "I Wish You Enough" and look for the story by Bob Perks....

To all a Peaceful and Happy Seasons Greetings!

Ely

From Belgium,

Prettige Kerstdagen en Gelukkig Nieuwjaar! As we sometimes say over here. No matter where you are, the message is the same.

We are doing the family thing on the 24th this year, I would share the reason with you but I don’t understand it myself. But that doesn’t matter much just so long as can reinforce the family unit (I hope) and have a time for some fun, some quiet reflection, and enjoy the childrens’ happiness without thinking too much on the adversity ahead that they will have to endure.

I have been trying to think of an appropriate set of words, but unusually my word cupboard is bare.
It is not only the troops as Cy mentioned that we should share a quiet moment for but all the innocents who are being killed in combat and tortured in camps around the world in order, we are told, to make our lives more fulfilled.

Anyway, enough of this, it is time to crack another bottle. Hey Montana or Stoney, is there a correct direction to pass the peace pipe around the campfire? Is it like port wine where you would be considered terribly gauche if you did it the wrong way?

Love and peace to all at this special time of year.

Spirit Across The Sea, the sacred pipe is usually ignited by the eldest member of the council, however there are times when this is just not appropriate, so the honor is given to another to recite the ancient ceremonial, in your case it would be you as an honored guest to begin the ceremony, say the words of your heart, light the pipe take a deep draw and pass the pipe to whichever way the prevailing winds were blowing, and that would be towards the warrior with the biggest tomahawk.Of course i'm kidding.
In the native way respect is always right there, you do not have to look for it,

it is in the eyes of a child as well as in the eyes or the oldest warrior,so i say this to you my old friend, would you rejoice with me and all that attend this most sacred of councils to love one another and know that we are truly blessed to have met and exchanged the thoughts and information that gives us a more realistic view of this world in which we find our selfs, and maybe to be able to do something about it??

Thank you Stoney and to your pretty wife who does those things that dudes will not do and that is to send cards and picts to friends far away.Your sons look very worthy to carry the meaning of our lives, you are truly blessed.

Murph and Freeacre, you guys are the keepers of the light and i honor you for all that you have chosen to give to us in the form of info and love sharing.

Amber you bashful thing, thank you for the good wishes for all of us that can absolutely use them.

God there are so many of us, So being full of good cheer and relatives in every room i must close now or go bonkers.
For what it means i love each and everyone of you that attend this place of tranquility for one another,Please invoke a word or two for Rockpicker and Oldensoul whom are on their way back east for family visit,.
Cy,my brother, all i can say is thank you for sharing your gift with us, the most in need of receiving it.

peace.

rp and oldensoul checking in,

after a long, strange trip on the train
having rested my brain,
it's so good! to meet with all of you again.

Peace and love to all, and a riotous
gathering in each of your hearts.
May conviction be exceeded
only by wisdom and compassion.

One year is about to end
Another is soon to begin
The most holy season of the year
Gather round all you hold dear
The winds of change are starting to blow
What comes next, does anyone know?
We are in for a wild ride
There is no place to hide
We each may stand or fall
But I wish blessings on us all
Do not give up the fight
Keep struggling to hold alive the Light

OK i sent out a bunch of emails but RAS needs some help guys, there must be one single person that has actual info in regard to organizations that have the clout to buy up the land that is adjacent to her little spot on the planet and turn it into a preserve of some kind so the creatures will have a place to live and thrive.
OK lets start a drive to buy the fucking land then, i can kick in fifty bucks without it messing to much with my overzealous life style,, who knows how to set up a fund place for the land or for the conservation groups that are bound to get wind of this most honorable of issues???
What do you say guys can we pull off this one little thing for mother earth?
Fuck i know we can, lets do it!!
Come on you rich liberals, this is your world to .
