Hey Iran, Here Comes Georgie!!

Word has it that the much anticipated Iranian invasion is planned for March 1. That generally means that it will happen a little sooner, but we'll see. The only thing that I see changing this is if Iran caves in to Boosh, but in my view chances of that are slim and it might not matter anyway. We've talked about this potentially happening for some time and there is no need to rehash old material, so this will be short. There are other posts on this topic on this site, so feel free to look through the archives.

The Fiction

As we are all well aware, one of the less talked about reasons for the Iraqi invasion was their threat of selling Iraqi oil using a currency different than the US dollar. Heaven forbid that a sovereign country be allowed to choose what currency they wish to deal in, but we all know that he who carries the biggest stick influences such matters.

In the last day or two, Iran has announced that they will be switching to Euros in handling all transactions within their country. On the surface, it would appear that they are making this choice to once again taunt the US and Boosh in order to further humiliate us, and him. This seems to be a popular sport among certain world leaders these days. But, as usual with this corrupt administration, it is not what it seems.

In what could be described as an end run around the United Nations sanctioning body, Booshco has essentially forced the Iranians hand in this matter. They have done so by quietly threatening negative “consequences” to any country that uses our phony US dollars to purchase Iranian goods, thus in theory cutting Iran off from all US dollars. So, what is Iran to do? Stop selling oil? Agree to be sanctioned at the sole discretion of George W. Boosh? Hardly. They did the only practical thing and decided that if dollars were not going to be coming their way, they must accept something for their goods. Euros just seem to be as good a choice as any.

This is just one more example of total incompetence on the part of this administration. I often think that sooner or later they have to do something right, but they continue to disappoint. You see, Iran would likely have soon made the switch to Euros or some other form of currency in the very near future without our intervention. They would have done so for the very reasons that Boosh would like you to believe that they are doing so now, solely to humiliate and spit in the face of the evil empire and its moronic leader. But, were Boosh to allow that to occur naturally, it would not look like he is the Decider. So, he has chosen this “back door” course. Forgive me; I don’t have my DSM IV handy. (For those unfamiliar with the DSM, it is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) But, when one forces something to happen that is soon to happen anyway, making said person look foolish in the long run for advancing the pace of an action that is already inevitable, and does it for the sole purpose of proving that one is a powerful person, I’m not exactly sure what the diagnosis is. I do know that it is in the book somewhere, but for now we’ll just use “idiot” as a reference point. So, again using Cyclone plain English, the idiot forced the Iranians to switch to Euros so that he can blame them for doing so even though they soon would have switched on their own anyway. Now that we have that sufficiently covered, we can move on.

The Sales Pitch

When Boosh speaks to the nation after the first of the year, he is going to say that he is sending 10-30,000 additional troops to Iraq, specifically the Baghdad area. Exactly where they will come from is anybody’s guess, but if I were in my late 40’s or early 50’s and in the Military Reserves, I might grab a copy of the DSM IV and start feigning signs of some mental illness found therein. Otherwise, I’m afraid I might find myself in the Iraqi Desert sometime soon. Yes, we are that desperate for troops.

Will the American people stand for sending more troops into Iraq so soon after an election where they stated loudly and clearly that they wanted our boys to come home? Well, sad to say, it doesn’t really matter. Because the new Democratic Saviors are already on record saying that they will support a military buildup in Iraq “as long as it’s very short term, like 90-120 days.” At least that is what Harry Reid and others soon to be in leadership have stated. Hmmmm, lets see, it’s almost Christmas now. Add 90-120 days from now to that and March 1 falls toward the outward edge of that time frame. Making a connection yet?

We’ve talked extensively about the massive naval buildup in the Gulf region, so we won’t go much into that again. Just suffice it to say that they are either there already or soon will be. So, add about 30-60 days to get some new troops into Iraq which happens to be right next door to Iran, (pure coincidence I’m sure) and you have some folks to keep an eye on things. They certainly aren’t really needed in Iraq; the Generals on the ground have already said so. We all, except Boosh and Cheney also realize that Iraq is a lost cause, but that’s a different matter. So, if the Iraqi’s don’t want them, and the American Generals don’t want them, could there possibly be another reason for getting them in the region? Again, Hmmmm.

The Results

We will not invade Iran on the ground, beyond using some special ops that are already in place. Oh, we might run a few more folks in there should things go badly, but otherwise, we don’t have the manpower to do so. For a superpower, we sure seem to have some problems with our military. Not too many years ago, say in the 80’s, the theory was that we had the people, weapons, and money to fight 2 ½ wars at the same time. That was always the benchmark, we felt safe as long as we could handle that. Unfortunately, we have proven that we are unable to handle an insurgency in one country of 25 million people, even with all of our soldiers going in and out like they are circling a drive-thru. We are also penniless, so that benchmark is nowhere near being met these days. And, barring a draft, it won’t ever be met again. So, what do we do?

We are going to bomb Iran to hell and back, or at least we think we are. My guess is that we will break out the new toys we’ve been dying to use, like the deep bunker buster bombs that will be necessary to even sniff the underground nuclear facilities that the Iranian’s have, or we think they have. A whole lot of military experts doubt that we know where the majority of these facilities even are. A lot of those bunker busters contain nuclear warheads. Surely, we wouldn’t do that, would we? I don’t know. We have nuclear submarines in the area, as well as other warships with nuclear capabilities on the scene. Why are they there if not to be used? We also have ships from half the countries in the world amassed in the region. Are they all there just for fun and games? Has Boosh finally amassed a coalition?

I will ask the same questions that I asked several months ago when I first said that we were going to attack Iran. It is becoming more apparent each and every day that we are the most dangerous country in the world, and we are led by the most dangerous pair of miscreants in the history of this country, maybe in the history of the world. Do we think that other countries in the world aren’t aware of this? Do we think that others aren’t aware that we are on our last legs, militarily, financially and morally? Do we not realize that we, because of the actions of our leaders, are the most hated group of people on this planet? Do we not realize that Iran, unlike Iraq, will fight back and fight back hard with weapons we have never faced before? And, most importantly, with who do the loyalties of all these other forces amassed in the Gulf Region really lie? We already know that we CAN’T be trusted; do we know that the others CAN?

Cyclone's Conclusion

Listen to what people have said, look at the timeline, do the math and come to your own conclusions. I have already come to mine, which follows.

George W. Boosh has lost his mind. The Iraq Study Group’s report finally snapped the rubber band that was long ago stretched to the max, the one connecting him to the last tiny speck of reality that existed somewhere deep in the recesses of his head. He is on an island, everybody is against him, Daddy joined with the pervert Clinton and turned on him, Cheney can’t be trusted, Rove is AWOL, all his other close advisors have jumped ship, he’s surrounded by traitorous folks from Daddy’s administration, his right wing religious zealot base has abandoned him, the liberal commies have taken over the entire Congress, “hey, can a guy get a drink around here?” Condi, Laura and the dog Barney are about all that’s left and Barney’s been acting a little strange lately, forget the legacy; let’s go out with a bang, whadda ya say?

God help us all,

Cyclone

is the wailing of mothers

Cy,

All the indications are there for some kind of agression against Iran, which I think will be disasterous, but who knows.

I have several times talked about trying to find solid neocon commentaries and information. As everyone at this site should be aware of by now, I don't fall into either a conservative or liberal contempary political grouping. Well, I finally found sites that articulated the neocon position, from Tom DeLay's site. Like most, he has a list on the right side of approved sites and blogs, 34 of them. I visited 22 of them. The two that impressed me the most for neocon perspectives and comments was 'Right Wing News', and 'Real Clear Politics'. The rest of the sites didn't impress me as being more that poorly integrated and articulated stupid comments.

If you would like to get a handle on the neocon perspectives and reasoning, take a look at these sites. I was appalled. Cripes, I don't have any sympathy at all for their stances and I could come up with better justifications. My impression is that their only justifications for what they advocate is demegogary and propaganda. Nothing in depth, nothing with historical perspectives, nothing with either moral or ethic imperatives, some of the most shallow and ignorant thinking I have seen. It certainly appears to me that the best they have to offer is not going into the archives of the better thinkers of history. But, you can take for granted that history as written by them will put them at the top of the lists. Take a look and see what you think about it.

Well, I find myself dejected in this season of "peace on earth, goodwill towards men." Despite the mandate to promote peace rather than war, the government seems determined to playout their shallow insanity, based on greed and determined to continue to insist that we are a nation of "consumers" rather than citizens of a democracy.
2007 looks like it will be a watershed year, when the chickens all come home to roost. I find myself self medicating with fruitcake doused with copious amounts of brandy, providing strange comfort. One can only hope that this apparent dissolution of our culture is, in the long run, a good thing for the planet, and that things will be better in the very long run.
But, meanwhile, it's going to get even more brutal, I fear, as our American nutzoid bretheran are killing each other over playstations and iPods and tennis shoes, and selling themselves into indentured servitude to pay for do-dads on credit. Imagine what it will be like when they are fighting for groceries and gas and a place to live when the economy tanks. Good grief.
If we bomb Iran with some sort of conflagration like the "shock and awe" of Baghdad, this time it will be just plain "horror" as the monsters are unmasked and seen as the "reptiles" that they are. This world is going to seem like Jurassic Park.

freeacre,

There is one silver lining in what you say. Credit will be the first thing to go bye bye before the crash occurs, the first big warning sign. So we won't have to worry about the young'uns being behind in their bills!! Of course, they'll be homeless, unless Mum and Dad have left them a paid for place, but you still have to look at the bright side! Or, maybe you don't. Just keep eating the fruitcake.

You are right about the credit. My dad died owing $35,000 on one credit card (mostly owed to Las Vegas casinos!) and $25,000 or something on his Sears card! Since it was all unsecured, there was nothing they could do about it. Maybe people should just stock up on supplies, then unplug the phone. Don't know. Of course, we will all be a lot easier to keep track of once the mandatory ID cards with the tracking devices are issued by May of 2007...part of the info that will be tracked will probably be how much we owe and what we have been buying and what our credit rating is. A bad rating could then limit what you can buy, if you can rent, where you can travel, etc. "Gee, Officer, I didn't know I was behind on my Penny's card..."
Debt management and financial rigarmarol is the largest business in this country right now. If they actually had to take their boots off our necks, it would be quite liberating. Until then,I have the fruitcake. Sometimes I feel like I am the fruitcake...

From Belgium,

Freeacre, you are the tastiest fruitcake I have ever seen and it’s not just the brandy that’s making me say that (Excuses to the Murphinator).

Sometimes I will admit, I get into the desire for things mode, usually books from Amazon or films that are only available from little known foreign distributors and I think “Its only €100 or so and I could pay that off right away so why not just get a credit card” but then reality sets in and I get quite smug about saying “I have lived my life without these things up to now so Fuck them”.

Half Feb to March, the logic sounds right, the draft and the National Guard have been mooted for some time now. As I said in the comments of the last post there has already been a slow but steady movement away from dollars in oil transactions for a while now but not enough to draw attention to itself for fear of starting the avalanche; Cryptogon 10 Dec 06.

My personal take is that with the Preacher ranting to an empty room it will not take until March. Pointing the Preacher at the Prez and the Veep is a new one but there is a first time for everything and without a congregation nobody will know where to point the finger, it will be a bigger mystery than JR, pity Duncan O’Finioan screwed it up first time around.

RP,

I apreciate the conundrum.

Ras,

Ask Murph to send you a copy of the Pickaxe video. If he hasn’t got one I will send you a copy of mine.
I also got into your blog today and was quite impressed, keep us up to date.

My slightly drunken and unlicensed assessment of Bush from the DSM-IV is that he has some mixture of Antisocial Personality Disorder (http://psyweb.com/Mdisord/jsp/anpd.jsp) and Narcissistic Personality Disorder (http://psyweb.com/Mdisord/jsp/napd.jsp), and may be outright Schizophrenic (http://psyweb.com/Mdisord/jsp/schid.jsp)
Narcissistic Personality Disorder is the one I believe you were referring to, but I also think he has the Antisocial. How could he not, and still have done what he has?

I think the Narcissistic one is what the people who are wanting to build 38,000 square foot houses on the first fifty acres of that property adjacent to mine are suffering from. No, I didn't add a zero. That is 38,000. I can't even form the words to express my feelings at this right now.

BTW, anyone know what happened to MF?

In Murph's defence, I've always accepted that a wise man learns as much about his enemies as is possible.

What's William F. Buckley got to say about Iran, anyone?

Belgium, I watched that video interview with Duncan O'Finioan last night, and found it fascinating. It's so bizarre, what he's saying, that it sort of establishes it's own credibility as it goes along.

Stoney, have you watched the interview on www.projectcamelot.net
with O'Finioan? Any of that ring true, from your military background?

I will hope, on the eve of this supposed holy season, on the advent of the winter solstice and the newly dawned Fifth day of the Eighth Level of consciousness, (a time during each level when the big shit happens,) that Boosh will give a war and no one will come.

The aspect that guides our consciousness now, at this eighth level, is ethics.

Truth. Light. Ethics. Isn't it a nagging want, a hole in the side that seems to be bleeding our souls away, a need to be told the truth, straight- up, unsweetened and uncensored, that each of us deep down longs for, like rescued miners gasping our first clear air?

The Internet came into being , on que, at the beginning of the Eighth level. It provides us a way to communicate, as we can all see this happening, even as it makes this circle possible. THEY can't lie any longer. Oh, they can try. But how effective have they been? And how is their effectiveness doing? THEY are failing, because each day more and more of us are seeing the light of truth. You can feel it happening. You can see it in the faces of the people around you. Our consciousness is changing, collectively.

So my hope for all of us, all of you who attend this small council fire, you thoughful and holy keepers of the flame, and truly, all the rest of our brothers and sisters out there, whether hurling stones or shielding themselves from missiles, my sincere hope is that the ethical abbrogation implied by joining Boosh in his murderous fantasy will overwhelm those human hearts involved, and true heroes, armed and able, will stand down, in courage, and say 'no.'

Whether you can hear it or not, the universe is laughing behind your back". and one last one; :Therefore, make peace with your god, whatever you perceive him to be; hairy thunderer or cosmic muffin. Would you expect another false flag incident to preceed the coming unprovoked, "pre-emptive" action against Iran?

How, exactly, will Boosh convince a now-skeptical public to allow him to open a new "theater?"

Maybe the Bangkok sell-off will precipitate a series of self-devouring implosions among the world financial structures, snow-balling in free-fall ruin, gaining momentum with each failed story, down, down, into smouldering heaps of twisted policy and pools of molten greed. Thick layers of pulverized credit blanketing the stunned and panicked planet could save Iran from it's personal Hell.

Just a theory.

I just saw on the ABC News this morning that "Iveadinnerjacket" got his ass handed to him on a dirty plate in the latest elections! (Just like Bush got his handed to him!)! Seems like the youth in Iran, (who get the vote at sixteen years of age) decided they weren't into his manical posturing to dangerously unstable foreign heads of state, who have an infinite variety of nuclear weapons at hand!

This gives me a slight glimmer of hope, (although it is very slight) that this might be yet averted! I'm afraid that Bush and his counter part in Iran aren't about to let a little thing like the will of the people get in the way of their fun!

About the only thing that WOULD stop this is for the young people of BOTH countries (whose job it is to fight these wars) just refused to fight! If this was to happen it might, (JUST MIGHT!) wake these two idiots up to the fact that war is a lot like tic tac toe! After a while, nobody wins!

Rockpicker,

I have the slowest, most agravating rubber powered ISP on the face of this planet! China has better internet connections than I do! Downloading a ten minute video takes about 6 hours for me! IF the damn thing would stay connected for over fifteen minutes at a time,(which it won't!)

Video clips are something I have found that I must do without untill TDS decides to install the hardware that would allow me to get DSL in my neck of the woods! If you can find a link to a transcript, I would apreciate it!

Oh Yea! By the way!! Great words, and great visuals! After Freeacre gets Murph secured in the sweat lodge, maybee you can recite some outside the door!

Get Montana Freeman to load that bus of his down with sage and bring him out too, if the snow isn't too deep! It will take a concerted effort to save our Murph from the evils of Tom DeLay!

And while I do agree that it is indeed a good thing to know your enemy, I also realize Tom DeLay is NOT anything I need to know about!

The one intrenched for over 500 years must protect their monentary and power base and the American Elites must protect their home base. The long time rulers must come up with a reason for the coming economic devolution. An attack on IRAN would provide that reason as it would create worldwide turmoil because of the Oil disruption. They could blame the whole problem on BUSH and use him as a scapegoat. The whole issue is FIAT control. The American Elite realize that the status quo must be maintained or the empire is doomed.

Eventually, we are all screwed as no FIAT currenct has ever survived.

Here is my prediction of how the financial crisis will playout in usa and rapidly spread everywhere around the world.

Suddenly, all credit cards cannot be used. At the same time, all ATM and debits cards have an artifically low limit imposed on them, to prevent withdrawal of funds. All banks will be closed and even if the bank and ATM is robbed, cash is worthless. This step is necessary as the top 10 usa banks have 55,000 billions accepted as savings, 60,000 billions loaned out and only 400 billion cash at hand, and besides the leverage is too high. The big CEOs and big shots in the garment will inform their second and third command to take over, while they take helicopter to a remote and safe place (It occurred in every occasion, e.g. 1975 just before fall of saigon). The second and third in charge will try to run the place, by robbing others of their food and water and petrol and cooking gas as these are most essential items (It occurred in many places, e.g. North korea famine, african countries as seen in black hawk down, even the pakistan earthquake 1 year ago). Paper money will be worthless, every one is fighting everyone for food, water, gold, petrol and looting anything of value etc.... At the same time, total cut off of food and other goods delivery, public utilities, phones, electricity and internet occurs as the need to minimize losses of big firms by not provide free goods (I experience this in a high class restraunt before, the fire alarm is ringing and the door is purposely locked until every one pays their meals before they can leave). Food and water are the worthless things on earth. Also, the only real choice left is to release rapidly acting disease so that 95+% of the population is wipeout in 28 days. After 2 months the big CEOs and big shots will return where they will rule the world.

Usuallymike,

You forgot to mention the after effects of the complex identification system of mental disorders. The drug companies and the lackies (doctors and psyc people)who are pushers for the companies. Got the whole nation hooked on drugs, some have to be taken for life and have dreadful side effects.

Why don't you submit an article about this?

usuallymike,

Interesting that you speak of the DSM. I once hired an expert witness who was being cross examined by the prosecutor, asking if he knew blah, blah, blah about a particular thing in the DSMIII, I think it was at the time. Our expert replied, "Yes, I'm familiar with that. I wrote it. And we have since realized that it is flawed, and have already changed it for the DSMIV that is coming out soon." He went on to explain the changes, why they were necessary, etc. It's the only time I have EVER seen a prosecutor looking for a door to run out of during the middle of an answer one of his own questions. Hilarious stuff.

I'm quite familiar with the DSM. It might be worth a write, we'll see.

aaron uk,

I am planning a post that will address what you speak of, but in short, he can do whatever the hell he wants, at least until next month. Then it could change, but won't.

efsaturn,

Yes, the sunburn, along with the submarine technology that the Chinese used about a month ago to sneak unnoticed to within a couple of hundred yards of one of our warships would give a sane man pause. Unfortunately, no sane man is calling the shots, for either side re: Iran.
