Catching Up, A Necessity for Some

I have somewhat of a dilemma on my hands. For those who are familiar with my writings, I could merely continue to move on with commentary on the news of the day and things to look for. You regular readers would not miss a beat. Given that this blog is a starting point for many unfamiliar with my past writings, this leaves the new folks wondering just where I am coming from. Since news from Washington is breaking so quickly, going over previous ground seems impractical, if not impossible. I still believe that I must give others, new readers, some context to use in evaluating what I write. That being said, I will give a short cliff notes version of where I started, where I've been, and where I'm at. Regular readers may want to skip this brief dialogue and wait for the upcoming writing on the status of Plamegate which will appear later today. So, without further ado.......

Some two years ago I learned that the identity of a covert CIA agent, Valerie Plame, had been revealed to anyone who cared to read the Robert Novak piece responsible for her outing. I learned this at the same time that everyone else did, with the publishing of the Novak article. Bells and sirens immediately went off in my head, shouting,This is going to be Big Stuff. I understood that this story had the potential to be at a minimum as big as Iran/Contra, or could well make the Watergate Scandal look like a game of Twister. I did not know how large it would become, only that the potential for a grand historical moment was present.

Sometime later I learned that Patrick Fitzgerald had been selected by the Attorney General's office to investigate claims that (at the time) may arise from the leaking of the identity of Valerie Plame, aka Valerie Wilson, wife of the now famous Joseph Wilson. I had heard of Mr. Fitzgerald, knew that he had prosecuted a few big cases, but knew little else about him. So, I did what any investigator would do, I decided to look a little more deeply into just who this man was. Needless to say, being a Boosh antagonist, I was not disappointed with what I found.

Patrick Fitzgerald is an attorney, and a brilliant one at that, without ANY political affiliations present to hamper his ability to do the job. That alone is not what convinced me that the Boosh Administration had made a serious misjudgement in naming him as Special Counsel for this case. I also learned that Mr. Fitzgerald was known as an Investigator Friendly attorney. Now my interest was peaked. Could this be true? If so, the White House and its occupants were in serious trouble, if indeed someone had acted outside the law.

First, one must understand the way an investigator's mind works. A real investigator, one untarnished by political partisanship, unjaded by having worked for a police force or a beauracracy such as the FBI, is a truthseeker. The truth is what we live for, and we will not stop until we get it. What we do with these truths once we learn them is a different story altogether, but we will undoubtedly find the truth. If Patrick Fitzgerald was indeed an investigator first and an attorney second, as I had learned through my own investigation, he was going to be the right man to get to the bottom of not just the Plame investigation, but the very reasons that we are fighting an immoral and unwinnable war in Iraq. A truthseeker is a must for such a task to be successful.

As it turns out, that is exactly what Mr. Fitzgerald is. Loyalty to anything aside from obtaining the truth is foreign to Mr. Fitzgerald's thinking. He is an investigative bulldog, wants the truth, in fact HAS to have the truth. It is how he operates, it is who he is. A truthseeker. And just what the current regime in power did not want. It is merely a bonus that he is an attorney and a genius, as well.

While the Boosh Administration may have believed that they were putting a toe the line Republican on the case, one that would first and foremost protect their political interests, they have since learned that this was a huge miscalculation. In short, they did not do their homework very well. No exit strategy here, either, in that Mr. Fitzgerald was hired under a different statute than previous "Special Prosecutors." The difference is subtle, yet, in the end, the difference is staggering. Those that remember Watergate, recall that President Nixon had a habit of firing prosecutors who began to come close to uncovering the involvement of the White House in covering up crimes that were committed during those times. Archibald Cox comes to mind when thinking of such people. Prosecutor gets close, fire him and let someone else start over from scratch. This strategy worked until the American people collectively tired of it, brought great pressure on that administration, thus leading to the resignation of President Nixon.

The law that Mr. Fitzgerald was assigned under does not allow for his firing. I will not go into the details of the differences in the laws. For one, they make for boring reading, and second, time does not allow it. Suffice to say, if the Booshies could have rid themselves of Patrick Fitzgerald, they would have done so long before his investigation led anywhere near Pennsylvania Avenue.

A little over one year ago, I began to espouse that this investigation would lead to the ultimate undoing of the Boosh Administration. I stated that the neocon's were in serious trouble, that Vice President Cheney was headed rapidly to his doom, and that President Boosh would be the Second President in the history of our Republic to resign his post. I was written off as a crackpot conspiracy theorist by many, an Unpatriotic American by others, and a complete nutcase by most of the rest. Yet all my conclusions were based on observations of the members of the White House staff, the actions of the President and Vice President, the leanings of the American mainstream media, and reactions of people Worldwide to the bizarre antics of all of the above. In short, I did my homework.

Today, I still stand by my assertions that Vice President Cheney will soon resign, and following that event the entire house of cards called the Boosh Administration will collapse. George W. Boosh will not finish his term in the White House.

There you have it, new readers. Now it is time to get back to the business at hand, alerting others to signs that lead to the removal of this vile, corrupt, evil administration.

Anonymous,
Thanks for the plug. Tell it to Alternet, I'd be happy to! Time might be an issue, but??????

Psychic? I don't think so, but I do have the ability to observe and analyze, probably stemming from my investigative career. And, believe me, the amount of observing I do would probably be described as clinically unhealthy! At least my wife and daughter think so. Thanks for your support of this site, and of me personally. Spread the word, the madness must end.
